The employment of an apprentice should be an enjoyable and beneficial experience if undertaken correctly. Whilst we recognize the costs of training an apprentice for the small business operator can seem daunting.
However if seen as an investment in the business and the right apprentice selection is made it can be very rewarding both financially and personally.

• Current and Future Requirements: All training for the Plumbing Industry will fall under the newly developed training packages that will be implemented across all States during 2005.

Training packages, what are they? Training packages are a key feature of Vocational Education and Training in Australia. They are part of the National Training Framework that aims to make training and regulatory arrangements simple, flexible and relevant to the needs of the Industry.
Employment Conditions:
The employer will:

• Meet legal obligations
• Provide a safe working environment
• Provide structured training
• Provide supervision and support
• Advise apprentices of their rights and responsibilities
